I am dismissed innocently, the charges brought against me ere

false and illegal, as no such charge of absence from duty or of any

other sort has been brought against me during my last 6 years service

and the Head of the Sanitary Department has not investigated the

matters as stated in my statement, I have done my duty properly 528

according to various clauses of my standing orders, the standing

orders are old and defective in respective of the work required from

various Hill District contracta, 1. e. conservancy and scavenging

contracts for the Hill District, many clause which do not coincido

with the clause of Poak Watchman standing orders, but yet he is

responsible to see that work is done properly, the Senitary authority

have not been that the conditions of the Peak Watchmans stending

orders are corrected from time to time according to work required from

him, I have served in Kowloon for 13 months and am very therikful to

Mr. Pearse and Inspector Brown who always entered in my standing

orders all changes occurring from time to time for my guidance and

these gentlemen have been commending my good work, but on the Peak through the lack of guidance I have done more work than is required

of a foreman.

Inspector Fisher has not been punished for violating the conditions No. 7 of my standing orders as he has been taking more

hours work from me than required by condition No. 7 as when he

visited the Peak District he always called me to come cut on duty 2

or 3 hours early and never giving any remuneration for the extra hours

and few months ago the present Chinese Peak foreman whose duty is from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. vca on 10 days leave, end

I was ordered to do his work in addition to nine, this for 10 days

I remained on duty from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. without receiving any

remuneration, this whole has been entered in the diary.
